This year, Hobart Private Hospital proudly celebrates 25 years of serving the Tasmanian community with compassion, dedication, and excellence. Over the past quarter-century, the hospital has cemented its place as a leading healthcare provider, delivering advanced medical services and building a legacy of trust and care for patients across the state.

Hobart Private Hospital is thrilled to announce a celebration of its dedicated, long-serving employees, who have collectively contributed decades of service to the hospital and its community. This year, 66 staff members will receive Years of Service Milestone Awards, acknowledging their unwavering commitment and contributions.

At Hobart Private, patient safety is our number one priority every day. However, today, on World Patient Safety Day, we want to share some key steps that we take to ensure that our team is always right on task before surgery. One of the most crucial procedures we undertake is called Time Out. This process plays a vital role in safeguarding our patients by ensuring we have the right patients in the correct operating theatre and preparing them for their intended procedure.

We have implemented a comprehensive vaccination policy that aligns with national guidelines and goes beyond to ensure that our workplaces are as safe as possible.

In 2020 alone, over 27,000 Australians experienced their first stroke, with Tasmania recording more than 660 of these cases. Disturbingly, Tasmania holds one of the highest per capita incidences of stroke in the nation. With over 11,000 stroke survivors residing in the state, the ripple effects of this condition are deeply felt across our communities.
